Marketing company slow to pay Quiznos brand ambassadors: The Real Deal Posted: 19 Jan 2011 01:49 AM PST Syracuse (WSYR-TV) - The Quiznos company says a London-based marketing firm contracted to hire Central New Yorkers to pass out coupons has been slow in paying those employees. After finding what she thought would be a decent paying side-job on Craigslist, Ann Gray became a Quiznos brand ambassador. She spent about 16 hours handing out 4,000 coupons over four days and taking a few pictures. The ad said that she could earn $18 per for the work. "It was a little rainy and snowy. Bad out. But, you know, if I'm getting paid, it's alright," she said. Gray completed the work during the week after Thanksgiving, but still hasn't been paid. "[I've made] emails, phone calls, messages, no response whatsoever and then I was Googling and I found this forum where hundreds of people from all of the U.S. had the same story," she said. The Quiznos company acknowledges that the company it hired has been slow paying the employees. The sandwich chain says it is now working with the parent company of Ambient Planet in London to make sure everyone is paid fairly. Quiznos says they are no longer doing business with the company. Gray, says she is waiting on about $500 that she says would be very helpful right now. But, she says, she'll believe it when she sees it. NewsChannel 9 has tried to reach Ambient Planet several times, but the company has not returned any of our calls.
