The next big stage for the inaugural Quiznos Pro Challenge international cycling race arrives Thursday morning with a press conference at the Colorado State Capitol.

That's when event organizers will officially announce the stages, host cities and race format for the 2011 race.

Gov. Bill Ritter and representatives from the 11 confirmed cities will be onsite to speak about the event. Joining them will be guest speakers Shannon Sharpe (the former Bronco and avid cyclist), and professional cyclists Tom Danielson, Tim Duggan and Rory Sutherland.

The Quiznos Pro Challenge will be held from August 22-28, 2011. The race is expected to become a major international pro-cycling event. It was created to reinvigorate the legacy of the Colorado-based Coors International Bicycle Classic which took place from 1979 until 1988.
