TULSA, OKla - Investigators believe Joe Fambrough is responsible for the armed robberies of five Tulsa businesses.

The latest happened in South Tulsa on Monday. The "Cotton Patch" fabric store was robbed at gun point just before 4 pm.

The physical description and M.O. of the suspect are the same as a robber who has targeted local businesses over the past two months.

Nancy Mullman has owned the Cotton Patch Fabric Store for the past 23 years. In that time her store has never the target of an armed robbery.

That changed Monday, when Nancy walked up as man was confronting her sister, and the store's Manager, Jane Green. He demanding all the money from register. Jane says, "I started for the back to use the phone. He said stop right where you are."

Nancy Mullman says, "I was walking up from the back and didn't see the gun. I said no way! I'm not giving you any money. I turned around and headed for the back to call 911. And Jane said Nancy he's got a gun pointed at me! So I walked right around to the register. I opened it and gave him the cash."

The robber took a few hundred dollars and ran from the store. He is described a white man with brown hair and facial hair. He is in his late 20's or early 30's. At the time of the robbery he was wearing a long sleeve "Mannford Pirates" shirt.

Robbery Sergeant Dave Walker says Monday's robbery could be the work Joe Fambrough, a man Tulsa Police are already searching for. "It's the year of the serial robber I guess. He's contributing to the ones we know about - possibly five. And there maybe others that we don't about yet that we may add the number."

Police have linked Fambrough to robberies at two Subway stores, a convenience store and the weekend robbery of a Midtown Quiznos, where witnesses gave police the proof they needed to go after their prime suspect. Sgt. Walker tells 2NEWS, "We went right to the business and had the victims right there while it was fresh in their minds. We showed them the photo line up and they immediately picked him (Fambrough) out."

Nancy hopes police can track him down before he frightens people at any other business. "It is so scary. There is no amount of money that is worth anyone getting hurt."

Anyone with information about the robbery, or the suspect's location is asked to call Crime Stoppers at 596-COPS.
