Quiznos Subs shop opens in Geneva Posted: 29 Jul 2010 10:34 PM PDT By BRENDA SCHORY - bschory@kcchronicle.com GENEVA – After being in the restaurant business for 30 years, Calvin Puppe decided it was time to open his own place. Puppe and his wife, Christina Puppe, 39, opened a Quizno's Subs, 1188 E. State St., Geneva recently. "What's exciting about Geneva is, I really like the neighborhoods and its quaintness," Puppe, 52, said. "We live in Warrenville. If I had known Geneva was here, I would have moved here. There are a lot of families and really nice people." The husband and wife team also do delivery and catering. They charge $2 for a minimum $8 sandwich order to deliver. "Typically, most of our deliveries are at lunch time," Puppe said. "It's me and three other people who make the deliveries." The sandwich shop site had been closed about 11 months, Puppe said. It had been a location for another sandwich shop, Bada Beef, in 2005, and then a pizzeria, which also closed. CommentsAdd CommentsThere are 44 hours, 7 minutes remaining to comment on this story.
